UDP stands for socio-economic and cultural development of the marginalized sectors of the society especially children, adolescents, women, indigenous people and other individuals ostracized by age, religion and education as well as the deprived labor force.

UDP is therefore committed to facilitate development through self-employment, improved health, increased literacy and skills, ensured self-reliance and sustained changed in life .

UDP believes in transparent, sound and accountability management. Appropriate planning, devoted and efficient staff force would enable target groups achieve self-reliance thus, bringing a positive change in their lives.
 
 
Participatory Livestock Development Project-II (PLDP-II):
The project is implementing in 14 Upazilas in the northern belt of the country after successful completion of PLDP-I at Dinajpur, benefiting 46,000 members. It will increase up to more than 80,000. The aim is to improve livestock and poultry anagement /production among rural & urban farmers by providing appropriate technical support including less-interest credit support. The project is supported by ADB and DLS in partnership with PKSF.
 
Rural Micro-credit :
Micro-finance program through PKSF support is focusing on the informal sector, small entrepreneurs, skilled laborers and other off-farm activities. This credit program provides low interest and collateral free loan through fixed savings and loan repayment scheme for the rural poor.
 
Urban Micro-credit :
A PKSF funded micro-finance project focusing on the informal sector, small entrepreneurs, skilled laborers and other off-farm activities. This credit program provides low interest and collateral free loan through fixed savings and loan repayment scheme for the urban poor.
 
Financial Services for the Poorest (PKSF-World Bank) :
The objective of this project is to provide credit access to the ultra hardcore poor who were excluded from the mainstream micro-credit program. As a pilot test, it provides flexible savings and loan repayment scheme. It also provides additional support activities such as: Group mobilization, social awareness, capacity building and IGA training including social development services (health, family planning, safe drinking water, sanitary latrine, education, tree plantation).
 
Micro-Enterprise (Govt./PKSF) :
This is also PKSF Fund for Micro-Entrepreneurs both for rural & urban area. In Dhaka city this program is called Business Development Services (BDS).
 
Micro-Finance for Marginal & Small Farmers (MFMSF):
This project is supported by IFAD through PKSF. Marginal farmers will be benefited. New technology and need based credit support will be provided to the agro-farmers. Other socio-economic improvement will be maintained. The project is started at the Kaharol upazila of Dinajpur district. Gradually these activities will spread at the Khansama and other upazilas.
 
Hard Core Poor (HCP):
This project is financed by the Govt. through PKSF.The objective of this project is to provide credit access to the ultra hardcore poor who were excluded from the mainstream micro-credit program. It provides flexible savings and loan repayment scheme. It also provides additional support activities such as: Group mobilization, social awareness, capacity building and IGA training including social development services. The project is implementing at the 6 upazilas under Sirajganj, Natore and Rajshahi district.
 
Housing Project :
An initiative of Govt. for post rehabilitation of flood victims and other natural calamities through the “Grehayon Prokolpo” is being implemented in Dinajpur. A total of 300 homeless families have been provided credit access in Dinajpur. The credit amount is realizing with less service charges as given instruction by the Bangladesh Bank.
 
Adarsha Gram Project-II (EC/Land Ministry) :
UDP is implementing this project from November 2004 for two years. The working area is in 13 Adarsha Grams of Khansama, Fulbari, Nawabganj upazila of Dinajpur district and Gangachara upazila of Rangpur district. There are 665 settled families are enrolled in the 13 AGs for their socio-economic development. Among the activities, Education (Children, Adult), Health, Family Planning, Environment (Tree plantation/Nursery raising/ Improved Cook Stoves/Use of sanitary latrine & drinking of pure water), Behavior Change Communication (BCC) has been changed through motivation, training and practices. Leaflet has been developed and distributed among the beneficiaries. Institution building & capacity development, training both awareness’s & need based skill. Savings practices by the settlers and credit support through the arrangement of UDP are continuing. Advocacy for title- Deeds and other rights application are ensuring for the settlers. Linkages are developing with the Govt. line ministry departments and other local NGOs.
